LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We come here as many peoples from many diverse parts of the world to this sacred site. Many of us came here fleeing war, injustice and a lack of respect for human life and dignity. We come here in good faith, with gratitude and respect for this land that we stand upon today, and for the people who have cared for it.  In particular we give thanks for the Bayda/Sapieha family for their faithfulness in donating and assisting in the maintenance of this sacred ground. We acknowledge this to be Treaty 6 territory and the homeland of the Metis. We pay our respects to the First Nations and Metis ancestors of this place. We reaffirm our relationship with one another as we gather in prayer to the Creator and God of all for a renewed respect for the dignity and inestimable worth of every human person, from conception until natural death, at every stage of development and throughout the entirety of life’s journey.
